This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in an ambitious transformation programme: building an innovative, modern estate. Join us and help create the best Estates department in Government.

HMRC is on a journey of change. We’re becoming a modern tax authority, equipped for the needs of modern customers. As part of this we’re creating collaborative working environments and bringing our wide organisation together - transforming dated offices into modern buildings with excellent, digitally-enabled, innovative facilities. Managing facilities, the Estates department clearly has an essential part to play.

As Senior Area Manager, you’ll oversee the provision of high-quality, easy-to-use services that ensures our customers can perform at their best. You’ll provide the strong leadership and direction for a regional team, while making sure that colleagues across Facilities management Service and the wider Estates business operation are joined-up and collaborating well.

It’s your responsibility to ensure our suppliers deliver services to contractual expectations, managing relationships and risks, and resolving issues.

To join us, you’ll need to have a BIFM Level 4 or equivalent qualification, or be willing to achieve this within two years of taking up the role. You’ll have a track record, too, of managing contracts, suppliers and customers to achieve successful outcomes. And a genuine passion for customer service.
