Based on the Kent & South East London borders D&M Contractors Ltd are one of the most respected suppliers of Building Maintenance services within the London, the South East and East Anglia. Our ever expanding client base includes Blue Chip Organisations and smaller independent businesses within the Retail & Leisure sectors.

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Small Works Project Coordinator who will be responsible for one of our largest accounts. Ideally you will have a good working knowledge of putting together quotes for building works and maintenance tasks associated with commercial clients and their estates.

You will be required to provide a comprehensive service to the client from preparing initial quotes through to organising labour and materials, scheduling works and managing the project through to sign off/invoicing. You should also be able to demonstrate solid client relationship skills in order to maintain the excellent relationship we have built with this client over the last 20 years or so.

The role is primarily office based, although there will be some need to travel to client sites, to meet with Managers and representatives from the Estate Team when required. A Company van will be provided so you will need to be a driver with a clean driving licence.

Duties include, but are not limited to;

  • To run multiple projects of varying sizes and sectors.
  • To compile tenders and quotations to the best standard, ensuring they are collated thoroughly and are priced competitively, to ensure contracts are won and retained.
  • To maintain a high standard of customer service for all internal and external facing activities.
  • To have good client and supplier relationship building skills.
  • To be flexible and able to multi-task.
  • To read, understand and scrutinise specifications, programmes and drawings.
  • To ensure health and safety standards are met on site at all times.
  • To carry out site visits and surveys.
  • To manage contract costs and variations including procurement.
  • To manage on-site teams and sub-contractors.

Candidate skills and qualifications

  • Five years’ experience within a similar job role.
  • Hard working, committed, with a strong work ethic and ambition.
  • Excellent stable background throughout career.
  • Team player. Working and communicating with both the office team members and on-site engineers.
