Based London with overseas travel

You’ll take responsibility for improving building standards and services on the government estate overseas

This role is based in the UK however you will travel overseas to support our overseas network, and in future you may have the opportunity to apply for a posting overseas.

You’ll be responsible for improving building standards and services in some of the most challenging locations in the world. This will involve everything from performing compliance assessments to inspecting properties to writing up reports of your recommendations – as well as taking the lead on individual projects, as you maintain a five-year rolling programme of remedial work.

Your aim will be to secure a fit-for-purpose estate throughout every country in your region.

You have an impressive range of technical knowledge and skills

This is primarily an advisory role, so you’ll need a relevant qualification in building construction or building services along with broad knowledge of building, civil, mechanical and electrical work.

Good interpersonal and communication skills are important, as you’ll be working closely with in-house architects, structural, M&E and security engineers and managing construction consultants based overseas. As an experienced project leader, you will also know how to effectively manage budgets and resources. Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation is essential.
