Maintenance & Construction Manager, The Ernest Cook Trust, Gloucestershire

£Competitive | South West | Date posted 22 Dec 2017

Are you an experienced Maintenance Manager with expertise in rural property? The Ernest Cook Trust is excited about a new key permanent role within the organisation.

The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the repairs and maintenance service in conjunction with the Property Director.

This role will also include the opportunity to be at the forefront of our ambition to build-out small scale development, as and when appropriate, across the Trust’s Estates.

The Ernest Cook Trust, based in Fairford, Gloucestershire, is one of the UK's leading educational charities, inspiring young people to achieve better educational and life outcomes by learning from the land.

It owns and manages over 22,000 acres of landed estates across five English counties.  Each year its Trustees distribute up to £2m to a range of education initiatives and aims to use its land and property to maximise outstanding learning opportunities and to enable others to do the same.

The management and development of the estates will support this vision going forward, with significant development opportunities that will shape the nature and scale of the estates.

Working within a small team in Fairford, the successful candidate will manage the delivery of all reactive and proactive repair and maintenance primarily through the management of external contractors and consultants.

CIOB qualification and equivalent work experience is desirable together with expert knowledge of rural property maintenance, procurement, contract management, asset management, building regulations, health & safety and compliance legislation.

The Ernest Cook Trust offers a competitive salary along with a generous pension scheme and staff benefits.
